The Installation documentation for Version 1.2 does not include instructions for Windows. Have you given up supporting Windows?

I am trying to use myDBR with an installation on a desktop based on the XAMPP environment. This is for use in an undergraduate course on database systems as part of the curriculum in Information Technology with 40 students enrolled. I have been trying to find a suitable open-source reporting tool for years for this purpose.

Are you only supporting UNIX/Linux implementations? If so, I can load all the target databases on a linux server and have the students access myDBR via the Internet, but that's not very convenient.

The only requirement for myDBR is a PHP server with suitable database extensions, so you can install myDBR to Windows environment as well without problems. If you are using XAMPP, the installation is quite similar to *NIX installation and most of the documentation applies also to the Windows version.

If you have any questions about the installation, just post them here.

    Hi,
myDBR is a PHP application compiled with ionCube's encoder. So ionCube's loader must be installed in the system. We are waiting ionCube to finish the PHP 5.3 version of the loader to officially support PHP 5.3. myDBR itself is ready for PHP 5.3.

Current status of loaders is that a version of Linux-loader is currently available and we are waiting the loader support to other platforms. In the meanwhile, we suggest you continue use XAMPP version with PHP 5.2 unless you really need the features of PHP 5.3.

The blank page that you are getting is due to the reason that ionCube's script inside myDBR is trying load the loader dynamically (using dl). dl is a deprecated feature in PHP 5.3 making the script to fail.

You can see the status of loaders at ionCube's forums. PHP 5.3 is a major update to the language, so it will take some time for ionCube guys to finish the work.
