I would like to create a portal where a couple of my customers can sign in and view custom reports and also other information of my choosing. We have a ticketing system and a server monitoring system that records to MySQL, I will use mydbr to create custom reports from those but would also like file downloads and maybe RSS, URL links etc displayed.

Is there any way to do this either currently or planned?

I suppose for now I could keep URL's and downloads in a DB and present them as a static report but it would be nice if I could place these in a more tidy fashion, maybe with the use of some kind of widget based system.

I am not a web designer, am a sys admin just starting to learn SQL although I have access to web designers if necessary.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Graham

    Hi,
You can do this already. With Premium version you can include your own content into the main window. With this you can have both myDBR reports and your own content visibe to customers is one page.

Is there any way of evaluating the premium version features? I would only need 2 weeks of playing to be sure it is what I want.

    Thanks

    Hi,
The Community version is the evaluation version for the product. We do not have separate evaluation version for the Premium version.

With the Premium versions 'Dashboard' feature you have full capability to add your own elements to the main window. This can include your own content, output of myDBR reports etc. myDBR demo at http://mydbr.com/demo/ displays content of two myDBR reports as images, but can as easily to include your own content there.

OK, so what you are saying is that in order to see the administration back end of the premium version I need to buy it? You can't issue me with a 2 week license for premium?

Can you confirm whether I could achieve the following:

    Either:

Have several clients, each with their own login. Each client is then presented with their own dashboard.

Or, each client has a login which takes them to a shared dashboard but they have access to their own area that has the tailored information / reporting that cannot be access by any other client.

    Thanks

    Graham,
We are trying to keep things simple and avoid things that cause extra work. Unfortunately, we do not have system in place which would allow automatic generation of Premium licenses in a controlled manner. Doing that manually would take resources away from other tasks and would cost us too much (we do get many request).

You can fully determine what you will put to the Dashboard. Also, you can separate different users / user groups and tailor content for each target group separately.

OK, I appreciate your help - I'll drill through the manuals a little more and see what I can work out.

As a suggestion (if you get one of those rare quiet moments), maybe you could have a live premium demo site running with access to the admin back end as well - possibly one that is automatically reset every night so as to lose buildup of crud.

    Thanks

    No problem.

A site with full access to admin features might not survive that long in internet. What we might do later is to add trial Premium licenses. Need to have a system in place for that though.
