I would like to put an autocomplete paramter on the dashboard (home screen), once you select an item from the list i would like a a choice of different reports to run. The report should open in a popup using the data in the autocomplete paramter query as paramter for the report.
To fit that functionality into my ui with just an input box and a dropdown button would be great. I don't know if it is possible to use paramter queiries in this way, it may require embeding a report.

You would do this by embedding a report. You also have more flexibility when you do it via a report.
