Export to CSV file

Hi all, I just got up and running with my first myDBR installation (pretty easy, the manual is well written!)

I'm wondering if there is any support for exporting a report to a CSV file. If not, is it feasible to write such functionality as an extension?

I know that the system currently exports to Excel (using HTML) but CSV is just so much more flexible and versatile (and the files can still be open perfectly fine with Excel and other spreadsheet applications).

    Thanks,
    Oskar

The difference between the Excel/HTML and CSV export is that the HTML-export tries to retain the formatting for you. If you just need the data, the easiest way is just use the copy-button which puts the data into clipboard ready to be pasted into any application for further processing (including saving as CSV).

    Thanks for your reply.

I just need the raw data and would not be interested in the formatting. I will try the copy-button approach and see how it works out for me.

  4. I've just installed the latest version 1.4.1 and expected export to now work, but I got the same error. Any update on this?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mydbr_sesssion_start() in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mydbr\apps\export.php on line 9

    Thanks,

The Excel-export problem has been fixed in current version 1.4.1 (build 390).

Could you re-check the version you are running? Also the build number. You can update the application from Admin->About->Update Now. The update should be quite quick and it's fully automatic.

  6. Yes, you are correct. I did have the wrong version. However I did run through the update, and it said it was successful, but it was the same version. What could I be doing wrong? I've even run it from the admin/about/update with same results...no errors.

    Thanks

What is the version you are running? How exactly are you doing the update? The update procedure should bring you the latest version.

  8. I'm running 1.3.3 (build 291). I click on the myDBR version 1.4.2 is now available!, it takes me through the update with all green and a message, myDBR has been successfully updated. I then click on back to mydbr and it still tells me I need to update.

Let's see what is causing this.

What is the version number after the update? You can see the version number from Admin->About.

  10. 1.3.3 (build 291)...the same. I did do a complete install and that worked, but I'm thinking of going to the subscription license, and I want to make sure, I can change versions without recreating all my reports.

    Thanks for the help,

There should be no reason to recreate the reports. myDBR installation does not touch any of your reports and the myDBR database install script is also nondestructive.

We still would be interested to see what was causing the update to fail like that. We have not seen other cases like that. Any caches in the network that might cause old version to be installed instead of the new one?

  12. That's good to know. I will try a fresh install. I've tried it on a couple of machines with the same results. As a refresher, I had problems installing it fresh as it was trying to use HTTPS.
