After uploading a file in 'Server Side Files Area'

When opening the uploaded file I get a red x and no file is displayed, I can however delete the file.

    John,
the file that is shown in the image is an old Excel file (XLS). The Server Side Files does not try to show the content of an Excel file, but instead, shows a generic file icon instead.

What would you expect the Server Side Files to do with the Excel file?

    Hi thanks for the response

It does the same with CSVs or any other extension

    Hi,
the Server Side Files is not a general pupose editor, but offers edting capabilities to those files that usually need editing (CSS, PHP, JS, SQL, XML, HTML, TXT and TMPL). For image files and fonts, it shows previews of those files, not an editor.

myDBR does not use CSV files in user-directory (all CSV files are user uploaded), hence no support for that. We can add support for editing CSV files though.

What are the "any other extensions" you are referring to?

    Hi,

We have always used CSVs & JSON files for mydbr imports we have always uploaded these to the Server Side Files area and it has always worked after all these are just text files, we could also edit them there two which was a bonus for small text discrepancies.

We don't use any other obscure file extensions.

    Kind Regards

    John

No problem. We can add support for CSV & JSON editing.
