Hi, I'm new to MyDBR & have a problem with a fresh install. I entered the license key into the config screen along with the mydbr admin user credentials I set up in MySQL, and when I get to the login screen I get the following message:

"No valid license found. Contact your admin or log in as admin."

I also can't log in using the admin credentials.

It appears that "mydbr/licensekey.txt" is the original one from the installation zip file. I thought at first it was a permissions problem, but then I checked "config.php" and confirmed that MyDBR/PHP re-wrote it properly with the info I submitted.

I tried deleting everything in mydbr/ and starting over with the original files from the zip package - no change.

    Here's my server setup:
    - Ubuntu 8.04
    - PHP 5.2.4
    - MySQL 5.0.51
    - MyDBR 1.2.2

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Roland

    Both problems solved.

I just didn't understand how licensing works - turns out I need a license key for the server's exact FQDN. I thought if I had a license for schigas.com, it would work for *.schigas.com.

I also didn't know about the "dba" user. Once I discovered this & reset the password through MySQL, I was in.

    Ciao!

The license if for the domain name used when accessing the server. You can have a license for each server's name (even for same server).

The default username is bit hidden in 1.2 documentation, sorry about that. The 1.3 release will have much improved installation / update system.

I've got the same issue with logging in after doing an update with the installation script. I can get logged into the admin section to add the new license key, but it still gives the same error:

"No valid license found. Contact your admin or log in as admin."

I license has the same domain name [domain.com] as the URL accessing myDBR only from a sub-folder [domain.com/mydbr/].

    any help... please

    Hi,
Could you check the date for the license so that the key is still valid and that the license key's host entry contains only the domain name (and the possible port if using nonstandard ports).

If you are accessing mydbr as http://mydomain.com/mydbr the license key's host field should contain only the mydomain.com.

if you still have a problem, please post the License Key hash, so we can check the validity of the license.

I take it the file licensekey.txt is the hash file:

Was bit unclear about the license key, sorry about that.

The licensekey.txt is ionCube's license key system which is not the license key system myDBR uses.

myDBR handles the licenses inside the application itself. Installed licenses are visible in the Admin->Licenses.

If your licenses have expired and you log in as normal user, you will just get the notice about missing licenses. This was the notice you had.

When you log in as admin, you will be presented a notice about missing license and direct link to the license UI. A direct link to out license system can be found there.
