   Couple of questions for more information:
   - Is this on one browser/machine or in every one in your network?
   - Which web server are you using? Also check the session path in your web server.
   - Do you have cookies enabled in yout browser?

   This occurs on several browsers on several machines, all of which have cookies enabled.
   This is running on apache.
   The session.save_path setting has a valid path and I can confirm that we have another application on this server that uses sessions.
